Year Description

1986

  • Founded in 1986 with initial capital of NT$ 5,000 thousands.
  • Created ELT as its own brand name.
  • Developed and manufactured 386 motherboard.

1989

  • Signed the contract of technical cooperation with IBM, and was approved by Industrial Development and Investment Center, Ministry of Economic Affairs in July.
  • Invested NT$ 55 millions in March and NT$ 60 millions in December, hence the paid-in capital reached to NT$ 120 millions.

1990

  • Launched 486 Motherboard successfully.

1991

  • Set up Chainteck Computer GmbH in Germany and owned its 100% stocks.

1994

  • Purchased a factory in Liencheng, Zhonghe, Taipei.
  • Granted the certification of ISO-9002.

1995

  • Ranked as one of top 1000 enterprises in Taiwan by Commonwealth Magazine (a leading business magazine) for sequential three years.

1996

  • Invested the reseller in U.S. in December with US$150 thousands to establish a subsidiary in U.S., and then increased the capital of US$ 1 million.

1997

  • Approved by SFB (Securities and Futures Bureau) as an OTC-listed company in December.

1998

  • Began to trade the over-the-counter stocks on February 4.
  • Purchased the land in Tucheng in August and then began the plant construction in December.
  • Granted the certification of ISO-9001 in December.

1999

  • Developed Socket 370 Motherboard and released for mass production.
2000
  • Developed the business in China by building up a joint- venture company.
  • Invested Changan Kode Processing Plant in China.
  • Moved to a new headquarters in Tucheng in March.
  • Set up a branch office in Korea in April.
  • Be a listed company officially on September 11.
2001
  • Established Digital Media Business Division to enter the Multi-media market.

2002

  • Set up a subsidiary in Korea with capital of KOW 270 millions.
  • Gold APOGEE Graphics Card acquired the Recommended Award from Maximum PC magazine in U.S.
  • Officially launched APOGEE worldwide, and won a lot of appreciations from media and consumers.
  • Set up a subsidiary in U.S. with capital of US$ 1 million.

2003

  • Launched Zenith Motherboard-7nJS in January, and received Recommended Awards from Tom’s Hardware, Hardware Zone and Tweak Town.

2004

  • Moved to a new headquarters in December at Fareast Industrial Park in Zhonghe, Taipei.

2005

  • Announced its new name as Walton Chaintech Corporation following its 25% stake acquired by Walton Advanced Engineering.

2006

  • Launched the APOGEE® memory module series.

2007

  • Granted the certification of ISO -14001 in April .
